1985 Air Jordan 1 White/Black/Red "Black
Toe"
The Air Jordan 1 Black Toes are the HOLY GRAIL of sneakerfreaks. The Holy Grail
because they were the first Jordan's MJ wore when he shot that Jumpman Chicago
Skyline Poster. But closer inspection of the poster revealed that the shoes MJ
wore had a black tongue and red "Nike Air" label. Nevertheless, they were released
in limited quantities in the Chicagoland area before MJ (reportedly) pulled the
plug and changed the "black toes" to red.

FAKES
These super-variants from Hong Kong were made in 1994. They've resurfaced on eBay
on a few occasions. Very tough to pick up whether it's real of fake. The most
distinguishing difference are :
1) The ankle-padding is slightly thicker and uneven compared to the 1985 originals.
2) The Nike Swoosh is wrong shape. The bottom edge curves slightly when it should
be straighter. The upward stroke of the Swoosh is smaller.
3) The white area of the midsole is too large.
4) The outsoles look dull red/ greyish-red.
5) The production number is wrong. Verified authentic black-toes have 851012ST-P.
