2001 Retro Air Jordan 1 Grey/Silver (Japan Exclusives)
This was the first of the Japan exclusive AJ1s. Notice this shoe is different than the USA released shoe in that the Japan shoe has 9 lace holes on each side, while the USA release has 8 lace holes. The largest size made of the Japan exclusive was 10.5. The case is considerably different than the Jordan XVII case. This is a very solid case. It comes with silica packs, Jumpman keychain, foam padding, two locking mechanisms with keys, solid construction, etc. It was released in only 10 or 12 stores (all in Japan). Even though it was New Year’s Eve, people were lined up (camped out) at stores two nights in advance, for the release on Jan 1, 2001. Only 2001 pairs were made, and they were numbered accordingly.
