Originally slated for release in the USA on Nov 12, 2005 the package was mysteriously postponed to Jan 28, 2006. The official reason is quality problems with the rubber imprinted J O R D A N gold lettering on the AJ 11 "bleeding" into the ballistic mesh. The DMP are the hottest release in 2006, people camping out for hours in the snow just to get hold of these puppies. Crystal blue soles of the AJ 11 was the hook. Some knaiving employees of Footlocker, Champs, Finishline and Modells were hoarding the shoes for themselves and on selling them on eBay to make themselves a tidy sum of hustle money. They were using their employee discounts to buy 2++ packs. SOB.
Rumoured to be 11,000 produced. I think it's far more than that. But still demand far exceeded supply, people got hurt, people got robbed by shallow-minded, image conscious, ruthless black hoodlums. Some kid was king hit from behind with a spade and had his DMP stolen and the J's he was wearing were also taken. About 20% of the DMP packs sold had AJ 11 with gold lettering (see below). The others don't have the lettering.
Fucking reseller just robbed the store!! Probably an employee of Footlocker, Champs, Footaction or Finishline...
