Jordan Shroud

The AJ 16 combines all the design elements of previous Air Jordans. For example you can see patent leather from AJ 11, The ribbed leather gaiter similar to the ribbed leather uppers of AJ 14s. The 3/4 midcut from AJ 3. The mesh uppers from AJ 5. The concept is good but for the soles of the shoes which is not truly functional. Problem is traction in these shoes are very poor. There ain't enough rubber on the sole. If you go full bore and come to a deadstop, you'll find yourself skating across the court or falling on yer' bum. Slippin' down face first is hair-raising experience. Makes you loose confidence in the shoes very quickly. I ditched it and used my Nike Flight Zoom which had much better traction... The flip side is that 16s can double up as a fashion/dress shoe. Just put on the Jordan Shroud/Gaiter and cowabungah, instant coolz. The gaiter covers the laces and makes the top looking like it's made from a piece leather. Stylish & tasteful. OK Bottom line is that AJ 16s make great fashion shoes but,... piss poor ballin' shoes!! Think about it... |
