Oct 21, 2004: Taiwan Fair Trade commission fines Nike US$41,000 because of Jordan's short 90 second appearance on May 21 Michael Jordan Asia Tour. 700 Taiwanese fans splashed out on Nike products in order to gain entry to "The Show." Chen Chi-yuan, vice-chairman of the Fair Trade Commission, said "Nike (Taiwan) had publicised an hour-long special event with a five-minute public appearance of Jordan. But that 90-second (appearance) was obviously far from proportional principle." |

June 15, 2006: Jordan become the second largest owner of the Charlotte Bobcats after Robert L. Johnson (CEO and founder of Black Entertainment Television). July 22, 2006: Judge Stuart E. Palmer throws out a lawsuit by Karla Knafel, who accused Jordan reneging on $5 million settlement to support his illegitimate child. However, DNA tests showed the Jordan is not the father! Ha! Another gold-digger denied! Justice is served. This is the end of a four-year court battle. August 9, 2006: Jordan wears a pair of AJ 22 at MJ Flight School, Santa Barbara. The AJ 22 sneak peak unveils a thermosensitive material, titanium shank plate and clear soles. September 9, 2006: Jordan wins inaugural Trent Tucker Celebrity Poker Tournament and donates prize money back to the Trent Tucker charity organization. The tournament at Canterbury Park, Shakopee MN, featured NBA stars, Scottie Pippen, Charles Oakley and Kevin Garnett. October 17, 2006: Jordan Europe Tour '06 begins at Paris. MJ visits European cities such as Paris (Oct 17-19), London (Oct 19-20), Berlin (Oct 21-22), Barcelona (Oct 22-23) and finally Milan (Oct 23-24). December 29, 2006: Jordan and Juanita files for an amicable divorce at the Lake County Courthouse. They had been married for 17 years. In a judgment entered in Lake County Circuit Court, the couple said they had not lived together since February and cited irreconcilable differences as the cause of the breakup. Juanita Jordan lives in Highland Park and Michael Jordan in Chicago.The couple retains joint custody of their three children, ages 14, 16, and 18. The judgment also mentions an agreement the couple reached on division of property, child support, parenting time and other issues. By special request, the details were not disclosed. The court waived a requirement that the Jordans attend parenting education program classes because their celebrity status might disrupt the class and to avoid undue public attention to the children's private lives.
