2003 NBA All-Star
2003 All-Star Eastern Conference Team
February 21, 2003: Vince Carter gave up his All-Star starting position to MJ as a sign of respect. MJ scored 20 pts in 9-27 shooting. He almost had the game winner in OT when he nailed a fadeaway rainbow with Shawn Marion in his face. The East lost to the West in a thrilling double-OT 155-145. Kevin Garnett was crowned MVP.
February 21, 2003: First NBA player over 40 years old to score over 40 points. MJ had 43 pts in 43 minutes as the Wizards won 89-86 at New Jersey.

April 16, 2003: Scores 15 pts in his final game at Philidelphia. Finishes career with 32,292 points, the third highest total in league history after Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Karl Malone.
May 7, 2003: Wizard's 79 year old owner, Abe Pollin, sacks Jordan after the team's failure to get into the playoffs. Three weeks later, Pollin sacks head coach, Doug Collins. Pollin's decision was based on three factors: player dissension, a franchise faltering after the years of Jordan in charge, and deteriorating relationships throughout the organization.

RIGHT TOP: MJ hit this fadeway with 4.8sec left in the first OT to give the East a 2 point lead 138-136. But in the next play, a foul on Kobe's trey by Jermaine O'Neal equalised the score. Kobe hit 2 of 3 freethrows (I think he deliberately canned 1 of the shot)
